So this little love is a natural. An actress from the the word "go." Some of you might remember that I wrote a part for her and co-directed her in a role last year for my short entitled, Remnant. She was completely at ease in front of the camera and beyond professional on set.
The boys agent asks her when she wants to start auditioning every time she visits the office.
My answer is always... "she'll let us know if/when she's ready."
Well....it appears the time has come.
Yesterday....Zion went on her first ever audition. It was for a Toyota commercial. She was in the room with Bradley, myself, and Mcabe. The casting director was so sweet. Personable. Funny. Warm & friendly. What a perfect initiation.
Zion skipped out of there on cloud 9..asking me to set up an appointment as soon as possible with the agency so we can get the ball rolling.
I told her she did a great job...whether she is ultimately cast as the cute daughter in the commercial or not...and tucked her in.
First thing she did when she woke up was ask to go directly to the agent's office.
I told her she needed to get her lessons done before we even considered it.
She flew through them. Even doing more than was assigned.
I told her we needed to take some new head shots...cuz she has matured since the last ones.
She dragged out and plugged in the hot rollers and pulled three wardrobe changes.
When Mcabe got his license....I got a reprieve.
I guess I'm back to being a taxi driver...making the casting office rounds with a kid.
